I came across this Transformations board game. I haven’t used this in any of my classes, but I thought I’d go ahead and post it here so I would remember it later, and in case anyone else wanted to try it out.

Snowflakes – Transformations and Area

I think dy/dan’s Snowflake Math is a wonderful activity for the Transformations unit. And Mimi’s scaffolding of this activity was a great modification. But, you know me, I prefer any handout to be on one page…

All I did was scale down Mimi’s version. You can get Dan’s original version, or Mimi’s version at the links above, or get my one-pager here.

And (not with this particular handout) snowflakes would make a great activity for Area of Irregular Shapes, so long as the cuts remained simple polygons or circles.
